Many people have problems with laundry and do not know what to do to help fix the problem. We are here to talk about the most common problems people face on laundry day and tell you how to fix them with ease.
1. Color Fading
Many people have issues with their clothes becoming faded very quickly. This is not good when you need to wear an item out for a special occasion and it is now yellow and not orange. If you have problems with your clothes fading it is likely because you are using the wrong water temperature. If you are washing your clothes in warmer water than recommended, they will fade faster.
2. Excessive Creasing
If you notice that your clothes are excessively creased, it could be because you are overloading your washing machine or your dryer. You should also make sure that you are using the correct setting on your machine to ensure they are properly being washed. Lastly, to help avoid creasing, make sure that you are taking out your clothes as soon as the washer is done and hang them up to dry. If you are using a dryer, make sure that you are not over-drying your clothes as this can cause creasing as well.
3. Scratchy Towels
No one likes scratchy towels and believe it or not, this happens quite often. This is often from a mineral buildup by using detergents.
If you notice this, you can mix distilled white vinegar and water and let the towels soak. After they have soaked, wash them in hot water without detergent. This will help remove the scratchiness of the towel.
We all own pillows and we want them to be clean. Pillows are generally a mistake when they are washed because we do not wash them. To wash pillows properly you should make sure you are only putting two into the machine at a time. You also want to make sure that the pillow is dried throughout before you take it out of the dryer. If they are not fully dry the inside will start to smell and mildew can grow. Do not dry clean your towels as the chemicals used can be toxic when you sleep on them at night. You should wash pillows at least twice a year.
5. Washing Machines
Modern washers are going to save a lot of energy and they are better for the environment. These washing machines use colder water. This also means that bacteria can build-up inside the machine because the hotter water temperatures are not killing the bacteria. This can cause your machine to smell.
